Gerry Harrington

Gerry has over forty years’ experience dealing with all areas of commercial property law and related issues. Having joined Moss & Coleman in 1985 Gerry quickly progressed to Partner in 1986, where he is now Head of the Commercial department. His clients cover a broad spectrum, from individuals to trusts and pension schemes. In particular, Gerry specialises in property disputes and trusts of land matters, and also general business law.

Outside of work Gerry’s hobbies include being a member of a cycling club as well as his local Rotary Club. He also enjoys taking part in pub quizzes.

Gill Botwright

Gill started her career in the 1970s as a Legal Executive with Moss & Coleman and has never left us! She qualified as a Solicitor in 1991, became a Partner in 1992 and is now Head of the Private Client department.   

Gill deals with, and is happy to give guidance to, older and vulnerable clients, their carers and families. Gill predominantly advises clients to assist them with planning for their future, including advice on Wills and tax matters, Lasting Powers of Attorney and Court of Protection, probate and elderly client issues. Gill is also a member of Solicitors for the Elderly.

Outside of work Gill enjoys scuba diving and travels extensively to dive in various exotic places! 

Gary Forbes

Gary is an experienced solicitor who has invaluable knowledge of the local area, having worked in and around Hornchurch since 1986. He joined Moss & Coleman in 2007 before becoming Partner in April of 2015, where he is now Head of Residential Property. Gary also specialises in all areas of commercial property law and property disputes, including trusts of land matters. He also has extensive experience in private client law.

Outside of work Gary enjoys a day at the races and is an avid supporter of Arsenal Football Club.

David Berry

David joined Moss & Coleman in 2001 as a Trainee Solicitor and completed his training contract in 2003. David is now Head of Litigation and has extensive expertise in a range of civil and commercial litigation and dispute resolution matters, including debt recovery, contractual disputes and property matters including rights of way, rights of light and landlord and tenant. He also has experience in employment law, including advising on settlement agreements.

Outside of work David enjoys playing tennis for his local club and snowboarding.

Nicola Moore

Nicola started her career with Moss & Coleman in January 2012, undertaking her training contract with the Firm and subsequently qualified as a Solicitor in June 2014. Nicola specialises in all matters relating to the Private Client department, from the making of a Will to the administration of an estate. Nicola can advise you regarding powers of attorney, estate planning and Inheritance Tax and will also deal with some conveyancing matters.   

Making decisions and plans for later in life can be complex and daunting but Nicola is happy to hold your hand throughout the process, whatever path you choose.   

In her personal life, Nicola enjoys spending time with family and friends. 

Jo Coney

Jo is both our Company Secretary and Office Manager and as such is responsible for the organisation and smooth running of the Company. Jo joined Moss & Coleman in 1992 at a very young age, working through various departments to reach her current position of ultimate power and control. 

In her spare time Jo enjoys travelling and spending time with her family and two young granddaughters.

Satwinder Sahota

Satwinder is an experienced family solicitor who joined Moss and Coleman in 2021 as head of our Family Law Department. She qualified as a Solicitor in 2005 and has specialised in family law throughout her career. Satwinder specialises in all areas of family law including private children disputes; representing parents and grandparents in relation to children issues, for example Child Arrangement Orders, Special Guardianship Orders and child relocation. She is also highly experienced in divorce, separation, financial matters including prenuptial and post nuptial agreements and cohabitee disputes.

Being a member of Resolution, Satwinder is committed to resolving matters as amicably and constructively as possible for her clients. The vast majority of clients come to Satwinder on the recommendation of their friends, family and contacts.

Outside of work, Satwinder is a busy mother to two children and enjoys spending quality time with her family.

Stephen Saych

Stephen completed his training contract with Moss & Coleman in November 2017 and is now a qualified Solicitor and member of our Commercial and Residential Property Departments.

Stephen has experience in a range of property matters including freehold/leasehold acquisitions and disposals, auction purchases and sales, the drafting and negotiation of leases, lease assignments and extensions, remortgages (including equity release plans), overage and option agreements, and property development.

Outside of work Stephen enjoys attending sporting events, cycling and playing six-a-side football.

Georgia Mahoney

Georgia joined Moss & Coleman in January 2020 on work placement after completing her Law Degree.

She completed her LPC and Masters degree in December 2021 and her training contract in February 2022. Georgia is now a qualified Solicitor and a member of our Conveyancing department. Georgia has experience in freehold/leasehold property sales and purchases as well as shared ownership and new build procurements. Georgia also deals with remortgages, equity release transactions and staircasing properties.

As well as conveyancing, Georgia also has experience in drafting Wills, Lasting Powers of Attorney and assists the Litigation department on various matters.

In her spare time, Georgia enjoys spending time with her family and keeping fit.

Simran Rakkar

Simran is a Trainee Solicitor at Moss & Coleman, and a member within the Property Department.

Simran has gained experience in a range of matters including but not limited to freehold/leasehold sale and purchases, equity release matters and re-mortgages. Purchasing or selling your home can be overwhelming, but Simran is more than happy to assist and advise you along the process.

Simran will also be working within the Private Client, Litigation, and Employment departments through her training contract.

A keen home baker, Simran keeps the office well supplied with lovely cakes and biscuits.

Emmi McGill

Emmi joined Moss and Coleman in May 2022 as a Paralegal in the Private Client department. She has since completed the Legal Practice Course and her Masters in Law. Emmi's Training Contract commenced in August 2022 and she is now working as a Trainee Solicitor within the Private Client department.

In her spare time, Emmi enjoys spending quality time with friends and family, travelling and training at the gym!

Jurij Osokin

Jurij is an experienced Private Client Executive who joined Moss & Coleman in December 2020. Before joining this firm for many years he worked as a Head of Legal Department in one of nation's leading estate planning companies.

Jurij specialises in advising individuals and families in all matters relating to estate planning, including preparation of Wills, Lasting Powers of Attorney, Trusts, Inheritance Tax planning, as well as dealing with Probate and Administration of Estates. Jurij is highly recommended for his patient and compassionate approach.

Jurij is a member of STEP (Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners) and CILEx (Chartered Institute of Legal Executives). In addition, he is bilingual, speaking both English and Russian languages.

Jurij is a keen DIY'er, so whenever he gets some spare time you'll probably find him working on his latest "project" around the house.

Dawn Clements

Dawn joined Moss and Coleman in 2003 as an experienced Legal Secretary in the Conveyancing Department; working her way up to a Conveyancer.

Dawn is incredibly organised - her ‘to do lists’ being second to none! - diligent and always on hand to assist; whether it be your first move, your move to your ‘forever home’ or whether you are adding to a commercial property portfolio, Dawn will ensure the smooth running of your transaction.

Outside of Moss and Coleman, Dawn spends her free time supporting her daughter’s passion for dance, attending practice sessions and dance competitions all over the UK.

Alan Foskett

Alan trained with Moss & Coleman, starting in 1969 and qualified as a Solicitor in early 1975 becoming a Partner shortly thereafter. Alan now acts as a Consultant to Moss & Coleman following his retirement in 2019.

Alan is a member of the Law Society Children’s Panel and deals with family matters generally with an emphasis on children issues, particularly care and adoption work. 
Alan is probably one of the few non central London Solicitors who has been personally involved in the presentation and passing of a Private Act of Parliament and also a case before the Supreme Court (previously the House of Lords). 

In his spare time, Alan enjoys travel – both overseas and within the UK, singing in a choir and arts and crafts.

Michelle Baker

Michelle is our Equity Release Manager at Moss & Coleman.  
 
She has over 20 years’ experience in the Lifetime Mortgage sector with a huge reputation for giving a first-class legal service. She also has extensive knowledge in handling non-standard technical issues relating to Lifetime mortgage applications which make her stand out within the industry.
 
Outside of work Michelle enjoys cycling and spending quality time with her grandchildren.

Fiona Miller

Fiona joined Moss & Coleman in August 2023 to work within the Equity Release Department. She has 6 years’ experience in the Lifetime Mortgage sector and is currently working towards her CLC Level 6 qualification.
 
Outside of work Fiona enjoys spending time with her family.

Carla Sherwin

Carla qualified as a Chartered Legal Executive in 2015, having studied on a part time basis whilst gaining practical work experience in a Solicitors office. She has over 20 years’ experience in conveyancing having started as a legal secretary and working her way up to dealing with her own case load of freehold and leasehold sales/purchases, lease extensions, transfers of equity and remortgages. In 2018 Carla branched into Equity Release where she now specialises in providing legal advice to borrowers on the terms of their lifetime mortgages.
 
Outside of work Carla enjoys reading, meeting up with friends and spending quality time with her family.
